Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

File information
The English version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the
Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

Hotfix installation information
After you extract the hotfix files,
you must move them to the I386 or to the IA64 folder, depending on your edition of Windows Server 2003.
Windows Server 2003, 32-bit editions
To complete installation on a 32-bit edition of Windows Server 2003, follow these steps:
- Locate the I386 folder in the Windows Server 2003 Setup
folders on the network share.
- Rename the following files by appending the .bak extension to each file name:
- Setupdd.sy_
- Setupldr.bin
- Setupldr.ex_
- Copy
the following hotfix files to the I386 folder:
- Setupdd.sys
- Setupldr.bin
- Setupldr.exe
- If you plan to use a custom CD to perform the installation, make a new
CD that contains the hotfix files.
Windows Server 2003, 64-Bit Enterprise Edition
To complete installation on a 64-bit edition of Windows Server 2003, follow these
steps:
- Locate the IA64 folder in the Windows Server 2003 Setup
folders on the network share.
- Rename the Setupdd.sy_ file by appending the .bak extension to the file name.
- Copy the
Setupdd.sys hotfix file to the IA64 folder.
- If you plan to use a custom CD to perform the installation, make a new
CD that contains the hotfix files.
