Symptoms

When you use the set crlf command in a Telnet session on a Windows XP-based computer, only the carriage return (CR) character is sent when you press ENTER.

More information

The Telnet commands to set and unset carriage return and line feed (LF) behavior are different in Windows XP and in Windows 2000. When you use the set crlf command in a telnet session on a Windows 2000-based computer, both the CR and LF characters are sent when you press ENTER.
