When you install Microsoft Office Access 2003, the sample Access database file (Northwind.mdb) and the sample Access project file (NorthwindCS.adp) are created on your computer. You can open these files by using the Help menu that is provided in the Access database file or in the Access project file.

To open Northwind.mdb or to open NorthwindCS.adp, follow these steps:
  1. Start Access.
  2. On the Help menu, point to Sample Databases, and then click Northwind Sample Database to open the Northwind.mdb file.

    -or-

    Click Northwind Sample Access Project to open the NorthwindCS.adp file.
When you install Office Access 2003, the sample database file and the project file are created at Office Path\OFFICE11\SAMPLES.

To open the samples files, follow these steps:
  1. Locate the sample folder.
  2. Double-click the Northwind.mdb file or double-click the NorthwindCS.adp file.
