More information

The problem that is described in the Symptoms section of this article occurs when you use the following procedure to modify the registry so that Access returns the user name instead of the computer name:
  1. Start Registry Editor.
  2. Locate and then click the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Terminal Server\Compatibility\Applications\MSACCESS
  3. Double-click the Flags DWORD value.
  4. In the Data value box, type 81c, and then click OK.

The value 81c hexadecimal (2076) is calculated by adding 80c hexadecimal (2060) (the Access default value) plus 0x00000010 (16) (the value that returns the user name instead of the computer name).
  5. Quit Registry Editor.
