The mobile devices that are supported by Outlook Mobile Access are determined by the Device Update package that is installed on the server that is running Exchange Server 2003 . The Device Update package is installed on the server when you run the Exchange 2003 Setup program.

Note The 'i' suffix in the model types indicates support for i-mode. I-mode is NTT DoCoMo's mobile Internet access system. I-mode is typically used by many users in Japan.

How to let users use unsupported mobile devices
To let users use those mobile devices that are not included in the Device Update package, follow these steps:
- Start Exchange System Manager.
- Expand Global Settings, right-click Mobile Services, and then click Properties.
- Click the General tab.
- Under Outlook Mobile Access, click to select the Enable unsupported devices check box, and then click OK.
Note This global setting applies to all users. You cannot enable this setting for individual users.
