Symptoms

Cause

When you use the Commerce Server 2002 AuthFilter in Windows Authentication mode, the filter simulates a Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Basic style logon. As part of this authentication method, the Basic authentication header is added to the request before IIS processes the request. However, the Commerce Server AuthFilter may not add the authorization header. This problem causes an "Access Denied" error.
