XL2002: Excel Quits When You Draw a Connector Line on a Chart

Symptoms

If you draw a connector line on a Microsoft Excel 2002 chart that you are editing, Excel 2002 quits or stops responding.

Cause

This problem occurs if the following two conditions are true:
  • You apply the hotfix that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
    814020 XL2002: Excel Data Changes Font Format After You Edit the Excel Data in


    -and-
  • You set the DWORD value to 00000001 in the following registry key after you apply the previously mentioned hotfix:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Excel\Options\QFE_Boston

Service Pack Information
