The "Prepare for upgrades in a domain containing Windows 2000 domain controllers" topic in Windows Server 2003 Help contains incorrect information about how to upgrade a Microsoft Windows 2000 domain to a Windows Server 2003 domain. This topic recommends that you disconnect the schema operation master when you run the Adprep /forestprep command. However, this recommendation is incorrect. You do not disconnect the schema operation master when you run the Adprep /forestprep command.

To locate this topic in Windows Server 2003 Help, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Help and Support.
  2. Under Help Contents, click Getting Started.
  3. Click Installing and Upgrading the Operating System.
  4. To the right of the "For help with specific tasks" topic, click How To.
  5. Click Prepare for upgrades in a domain containing Windows 2000 domain controllers.
  6. The following information, found in step 4 of the "Prepare for upgrades in a domain containing Windows 2000 domain controllers" topic, is incorrect:
    Disconnect the schema master from the network and do not reestablish the connection until step 9 in this procedure.
