PRB: Error Message: A Failure Occurred in CA_Start_MSDTC_ClusterService()

Symptoms

When you install Commerce Server 2002 on a cluster, you may receive the following error message:
Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 WARNING: A failure occurred in CA_Start_MSDTC_ClusterService() on c:\thorium\private\setup\ca_dll\cluster.cpp:570. The error code is -2147019889, and the description is: The cluster resource could not be found.

Cause

This error occurs when the clustered Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) resource is not named MSDTC.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, rename the clustered resource MSDTC, and then install Commerce Server 2002.

More information

To rename the DTC resource, follow these steps:
1.Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Cluster Administrator. The Cluster Administrator console appears.
2.Expand Groups.
3.Click the Cluster Group icon.
4.Right-click the Resource Type named Distributed Transaction Coordinator.
5.Click Properties.
6.Click the General tab, and then type MSDTC in the Name text box.
7.Click OK.
