SUMMARY

Group policy does not get applied to the clients correctly, Event 1030 from source Userenv is logged in the event viewer.

SYMPTOMS

Group policy is not applied to the clients.

Event 1030 from source Userenv is logged in the event viewer.

 
When loading RSOP.MSC an error will be shown on the User or Computer configuration.    Right clicking and selecting properties, then the error information tab will show:
Group Policy Infrastructure failed due to the error listed below. Overlapped I/O operation is in progress.

RESOLUTION

Open Stored Usernames and Passwords Tool
 
Click Start / Run and type "control keymgr.dll"
Delete the stored password for the Domain Controller that you are connected to.
 
Run GPUpdate /force from the command prompt and the issue should be resolved.
