Event ID 1901 message occurs when you try to access Outlook Mobile Access

Summary

When you try to use Microsoft Outlook Mobile Access (OMA), the following event may be logged in the Application event log on a computer that is running Exchange Server 2003.

Symptoms

When you try to use Microsoft Outlook Mobile Access (OMA), you receive the following error message:

��� Your account is not configured for wireless access. Please contact your administrator.

But OMA is enabled in Exchange System Manager, and also enabled in Exchange Features of user properties.

Additionally, the following events may appear in the Application log on the Exchange Server 2003 computer:

��� Event Type: Error
��� Event Source: MSExchangeOMA
��� Event Category: (1000)
��� Event ID: 1901
��� Date: date
��� Time: time
��� User: N/A
��� Computer: Computer_Name
��� Description:
��� User username@domainname.com does not have a valid mailbox that ends with the SMTP proxy address domainname.com.
��� Please make sure that the correct SMTP proxy address is set on the Outlook(R) Mobile Access virtual directory in Internet Information Services.

Cause

This issue can occur if the user does not have the�email address which same with the OMA default SMTP domain name.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, add�SMTP address for this user, and the SMTP address same with OMA default SMTP domain name. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type dsa.msc in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Expand the container where the user account that you want to modify, right-click the user account, and then click Properties.
3. Click the E-mail Addresses tab, click the SMTP e-mail address, and then click New.
4. Select SMTP Address, and then click OK.
5. Type the username which you want, but use the SMTP address that same with OMA default SMTP domain name, and then click OK.
