Cause

There are many reasons for the failure.

1. The report generated by Mailbox Manager exceeded the message delivery limit for incoming and outgoing e-mail messages which are configured in Exchange System Manager under Global Settings -> Message Delivery Properties -> Default tab -> Sending message size. Setting a message size limit preventsusers from sending large email messages.

2. This can also happen if the User's mailbox as said in the event has exceeded the storage limit which is configured at the Mail box store level.

Resolution

1. If you suspect the report generated by Mailbox Manager exceeded the message delivery limit for incoming and outgoing e-mail messages, try to increase this limit on the user mentioned in the Event. You can set this limit on user-to-user basis from Active Directory Users & Computers -> Search for the username -> Properties -> Exchange General -> Delivery Restrictions -> and here you can set the maximum size limit of outgoing messages in kilobytes (KB).

2. In other case, you might want to check User's mailbox as said in the event has exceeded the storage limit which is configured at the Mail box store level. To resolve this, manually configure higher storage limit for the User's mailbox as said in the event or clean-up the User's mailbox as said in the event.

More information

In some cases, if Anonymous Access is disabled on SMPT Protocol, this message might not be delivered. In Exchange System Manager navigate down to Exchange_ServerName -> Protocols -> SMTP and then right click on the Default SMTP Virtual Server and then click on Properties. Click on the Access tab and then click on the Authentication button. Make sure that Anonymous is selected here. If not, select the checkbox and then click on OK, OK. Restart the SMTP Service.
