How to publish custom Certificate Template via Enrollment Station

Symptoms

Enrollment Station allow you to request certificate from Certificate Authority. Windows 2003 Certificate
Authority allow you to use custom Certificate (Version 2.0 Certificate) and Regular Certificate
(Version 1.0 Certificate).
To enroll the custom Certificate, you will need to follow the instructions under "Resolution" section.

Resolution

You can use the following steps to create new certificate template that can be
listed by scrdenrl.dll.

1.�Go to "Start" -> "Run", Write �Certtmpl.msc��and press on "Enter"�button

2.�Select a �Smartcard Logon� certificate template (or other certificate template).

3.�Right Click and select the �Duplicate Template�.

Note: You� may need use the Enterprise Administrator to change Certificate Template.

4.�Rename the new template.�

5.�Click on� �Issuance Requirements� pane.

6.��Select �This number of authorized�signatures:� and input �1�.

7.�Click�on �Security� pane, give the�require group/user��Read� and �Enroll� permission

8.�Click �OK� to finish.

Wait several minutes for replication.� Now when you go the �Smart Card Certificate
Enrollment Station� web page, the new Certificate Template can be listed.
If you want the CA to issue certificate according to the new certificate template,
you need to add the new certificate template through �Certificate Authority�
snap-in to the �Certificates Templates� folder.
