HID device still rings if declining a Skype for Business 2016 call while Microsoft Teams is on a call

Symptoms

Assume that Microsoft Teams is on a call and Skype for Business 2016 receives a call. If the Skype for Business 2016 client user declines the call, the Human Interface Device (HID) device continues ringing until unplugged.

Resolution

To fix this issue, make sure that you install one of the following clients:
  • For Click-to-Run installation, the version should be 16.0.12315.10000 or a later version.
  • For 2016 MSI installation, the version should be 16.0.4973.1000 or a later version.
  • For Office 2019, the version should be 16.0.10356.20002 or a later version.

Note Make sure that you create a Group Policy Object (GPO) to add a new DWORD registry key EnableTeamsHIDInterop and set the value to 1 in the following path:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Lync
