The Update Rollup 44 article describes the enhancements in the services Microsoft Azure Site Recovery. No manual action is required to obtain the latest version. This is a service upgrade available in all regions supported by Site Recovery

Improvements made and issues fixed in this update

Through this upgrade the following enhancements are available

Enhancements:
  • Support for Encryption At Rest with Customer managed keys (CMK) is now available for

    1. Azure virtual machines with CMK enabled disks
      1. While enable protection, Disk Encryption Set (DES) should be provided as input by user to enable CMK on replica disks and target disks in the target region. This can be provided either via Portal or PowerShell. Refer documentation.
      2. While adding a disk to an already protected virtual machine, Disk Encryption Set (DES) should be provided as input to enable CMK on replica and target disk in the target region. This input can be provided only via PowerShell.
    2. VMWare machines being protected into Azure - Disk Encryption Set (DES) can be provided as input during enable replication via PowerShell (Az module version 3.3.0). Refer documentation.
    3. Hyper-V machines being protected into Azure - Disk Encryption Set (DES) can be provided as input during enable replication via PowerShell (Az module version 3.3.0). Refer documentation.
  • Service tag "AzureSiteRecovery" tag is now available in portal. It can be used while applying NSG rules for Site Recovery service access. Refer documentation.
  • A2A Exclude disk during Enable replication (from Vault and IaaS VM)
