Missing images when you paste text and images to a website in Internet Explorer 11

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You use the "Ctrl+C" keyboard shortcut to copy text and images together from a Word document to the Clipboard. 
  • You use the Ctrl+V keyboard shortcut to paste the Clipboard content into an editable area of a website in Internet Explorer.

In this scenario, you notice that the text is pasted but the images are missing.

Cause

The problem occurs because the target website does not belong to the "Trusted sites" zone in the browser.

Resolution

To fix the issue, use one of the following methods:

  • Add the website to the "Trusted sites" zone.
  • Copy and paste the images separately from the text.
