System Center Operations Manager Hotfix for Scoped Group Users

Introduction

This article describes an issue that has been fixed for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2019. This article also contains the installation instructions for this hotfix.

Issue that is Fixed

Users in the scoped group were not able see the computers and received errors when attempting to do so. This occurred both in the SCOM desktop and web console.

Installation Instructions

  1. Download the self extractor from here
  2. Extract the contents of the file to a local folder
  3. Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center\Operations Manager\Server
  4. Take backup of:
    • Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.DataAccessLayer.dll
    • Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.DataAccessService.Core
  5. Stop the following services:
    • Microsoft Monitoring Agent
    • System Center Data Access Service
    • System Center Management Configuration
  6. Run the extracted KB4506518-AMD64-Server.msp
  7. Start the services mentioned in (5)
