View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Assume that you create a User configuration setting through Group Policy for Settings Page Visibility, and you try to apply the policy to the following clients:

  • A Windows 10, version 1809-based computer
  • A Windows 10, version 1803-based computer that has no Windows updates installed
  • Several Windows 10, version 1703 and Windows 10 version 1709-based computers

In this scenario, the policy is correctly applied to the Windows 10, version 1809-based computer. However, it is not applied on the other computers.

Note The Supported on section of the Settings Page Visibility Group Policy setting for the User and Computer configuration states "At least Windows Server 2016, Windows 10 1703."

Cause

The Supported on section of the Settings Page Visibility Group Policy settings for the User configuration is incorrect.

More information

Settings Page Visibility in Group Policy has a different "supported on" list of Windows versions for the User and Computer configuration. Because of the manner in which Group Policy is designed, it cannot have different lists in the editor for the User and Computer configuration for the same policy.

See the following table to determine the User and Computer configuration of the versions of Windows that you can apply the Settings Page Visibility policy to.
