Summary

This security update resolves a cross-site-scripting (XSS) vulnerability that exists if Microsoft SharePoint Server does not correctly sanitize a specially crafted web request to an affected SharePoint server. To learn more about the vulnerability, see Microsoft Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures CVE-2019-1203.

Note To apply this security update, you must have the release version of Service Pack 1 for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 installed on the computer.

Improvements and fixes

This security update contains the following improvements:

  • Additional entry points in the SharePoint Central Administration site. This provides an option for migrating to SharePoint Online.

    Note To enable these improvements, you have to install updates 4475565 and 4475567 together with this update.

  • Additional support for the new Japanese era name to the Simplified Chinese (CHS) and Traditional Chinese (CHT) word breakers. They will be displayed as a compound in CHS/CHT word breaker outputs.

    Note To enable this improvement, you have to install KB 4475565 together with this update.
