Time zone and DST changes in Windows for North Korea

This article describes an update that makes time zone and daylight saving time (DST) changes in Windows for North Korea. Before you install this update, see the Prerequisites section.

This update applies to the following operating systems:

North Korea

On May 4 at 23:30, North Korea moved from the UTC+8:30 time zone to the UTC+9:00 time zone. When the local standard time had almost reached Friday, May 4, 2018, 23:30, clocks were turned forward a half-hour to Saturday, May 5, 2018, 24:00 (midnight) local standard time.

The update that is described in this article makes changes in the time zone and DST settings for North Korea.

Prerequisites

To apply this update, you must have Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 installed, or Service Pack 2 for Windows for Windows Server 2008 installed.

For Windows Server 2012 R2, you must have KB 2919355 installed.

Registry information

To apply this update, you do not have to make any changes to the registry.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you install this update.
