Operations against tenant resources fail and unexpected shares are created on the same tenant or infrastructure volume

Symptoms

In Azure Stack 1803, operations against tenant resources, such as starting or shutting down tenant virtual machines, accessing blobs, or migrating blob containers, occasionally fail. Operations that use some of the infrastructure shares, such as certificate rotation, may also fail.

Additionally, you see multiple unexpected tenant and infrastructure shares appear in the Administration portal.

Cause

An issue that affects background cluster work may create unexpected extra shares on tenant and infrastructure volumes.

To fix this problem, install the hotfix for the following Azure Stack version:
