Symptoms

Some batch tasks designed to optimize the size of the Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations database are causing high CPU usage of SQL Server on development environments. When this occurs, the performance of Visual Studio development tools is negatively affected.

Resolution

To workaround this problem, you can turn off the Dynamics 365 Unified Operations Batch Management Service from the Windows Services pane.  This hotfix enables the relevant batch tasks only for Azure SQL and will not be running in developer boxes.
