Symptoms

You may experience the following problems when working with the Electronic reporting (GER) framework:

  1. You may receive the following exception “Microsoft.Dynamics365.LocalizationFramework.Utils ExceptionUtils IsXppException (System.Exception)”  while generating a GER report to GSTR CVS.
  2. You may use Electronic Messages functionality to process customers or vendors invoices by using the InvoiceCommunication processing type. Doing this processing and executing GER configurations to generate necessary reports, you may receive the following error message:

    Error when run action
    An error occurred during the 'Format mapping' run. For more information, contact your system administrator.  
    Error executing code: Wrong type of argument for conversion function.
    getValueByPathInScopeInternal GroupByTax  getValueByPathInScopeInternal VATPaymentTerms getValueByPathInScopeInternal InvoiceCommunicationHelper_IT/getVATPaymentTerms Error executing code: Wrong type of argument for conversion function.

Resolution

This is the only application (X++) part for the Electronic reporting (GER) and Tax Engine cumulative update 6. If you apply this update, it is required to apply the binary changes for the application as well (hotfix KB ?).


The changes in the hotfix contain the code modifications that resolve the described above issues:
  1. GER format execution logic has been changed to avoid the appearance of unexpected exceptions during the execution of GER formats for getting GSTR CVS reports.
  2. Integration of the GER framework with the Electronic Messaging tool has been updated to resolve issues with incorrect type of arguments for conversion function.
