High memory usage and crash when you receive an HTML message in Skype for Business

Symptoms

When you receive an HTML message that contains a malformed DOCTYPE tag (for example, <!DOCTYPE doc [) in Microsoft Skype for Business 2016 or Skype for Business 2015 (Lync 2013), the client consumes high memory and finally crashes.

Resolution

To fix this issue, install one of the following updates:

Note Lync 2013 was upgraded to Skype for Business in April 2015.
