Microsoft .NET Framework Registration Correction Tool

Summary

The Microsoft .NET Framework Registration Correction Tool (msipatchregfix.exe) corrects a limited set of Windows Installer (MSI) registration corruption issues for .NET Framework updates.

This tool is only intended to be automatically run within the context of .NET Framework updates for Windows Update or Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) customers. Customers deploying updates outside WU and WSUS environments don't have to use this tool or take any different action.

Please contact Microsoft Support for more help if you're aware of any MSI registration corruption on Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Windows Server 2008 SP2, or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 systems that actively prevent .NET Framework updates from successfully installing.
