Image pasted in a PowerPoint slide appears in the wrong size

Symptoms

In PowerPoint 2016, if you use Paste > Paste Special > Picture (Enhanced Metafile) to insert an image, such as a chart, it might not render at the appropriate size.

Workaround

Microsoft is aware of the issue. Currently there is not a fix available. To work around the problem, use one of the following options:

  1. Resize the image by selecting a sizing handle and dragging.
  2. Resize to the exact size you want by right-clicking the image and selecting Format Picture. In the Format Picture panel, select Size and Properties, and then specify the Height and Width you want.
  3. Remove the image, and paste it into the slide as a different format.
