Unintended print results after Windows 10 Version 1709 upgrade

Symptoms

When you upgrade to Windows 10 Version 1709, saved print settings may not be inherited correctly. This may cause unintended printing results.

Cause

In Windows 10 version 1709, the data structure that holds the print settings is changed and isn't compatibility with the data structure of the earlier version of Windows. The operating system can't correctly recognize print settings from earlier versions of Windows.

Workaround

To work around this issue, change and save the print settings in Windows 10 version 1709 so that the print settings are updated to the new structure.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the cumulative update for Windows 10 that releases on March 22, 2018—KB4089848 or later cumulative updates.
