Symptoms

Import of some GER configurations with complex dependencies (for example, EU sales list model version 2) for the multiple product versions can throw an exception 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object’ instead of generation of reasonable message in the Infolog informing user about missing hotfix packages for the current application’s instance.  The root of such behavior is the configuration’s dependency from a hotfix that contains the package id but does not contains a KB number.

To work around this issue, you can export the desired GER configuration from the repository as XML document, edit this XML document removing prerequisites definition from it and import the updated configuration from this XML file to the application.

Resolution

The changes in the hotfix contain the code modification that allow you to correctly import GER configurations with prerequisites containing hotfix package id without KB number.
