This update for Windows Embedded Standard 7, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 fixes an issue in the .NET Framework 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, and 4.7. We recommend that you apply this update as part of your regular maintenance routines. Before you install this update, see the "Prerequisites" and "Restart requirement" sections.

Assume that you have a touch-enabled or stylus-enabled system that has the May 2017 Preview of Quality Rollup for the .NET Framework 4.6, 4.6.1, and 4.6.2 (KB 4104606) installed. After you install the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) applications may crash and return a COMException error on startup because of an incorrect configuration of COM registrations.
This update fixes systems that are already in this state, and prevents systems from entering this state in the future.

To apply this update, you must have the .NET Framework 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, or 4.7 installed.
You must restart the computer after you apply this update if any affected files are being used. We recommend that you exit all .NET Framework-based applications before you apply this update.
