Resolution

To fix this issue, install the latest cumulative update for Windows 10, and then manually rebuild the localized search resources cache for the user. To find the latest cumulative update for Windows 10, go to Windows 10 and Windows Server update history. For reference, the fix was first included in the following updates:

  • Windows 10 Version 1607: January 17, 2018—KB4057142 (OS Build 14393.2034)
  • Windows 10 Version 1703: January 17, 2018—KB4057144 (OS Build 15063.877)
  • Windows 10 Version 1709: March 22, 2018—KB4089848 (OS Build 16299.334)

In some scenarios, you must rebuild the localized search resources cache. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Exit Microsoft Office Outlook.
  2. For the French language, delete the following file:

    %localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\1036\StructuredQuerySchema.bin
  3. For the Hebrew language, delete the following file:

    %localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\1037\StructuredQuerySchema.bin
  4. Start Microsoft Office Outlook.
  5. Press Ctrl+E or click Search (Recherche) to open the Search ribbon tab in Outlook.
  6. Click From (De).
