FIX: BizTalk Adapter for DB2 can't read data stored in DB2 for i V7R2 GRAPHIC CCSID 13488 UNICODE UTF-16 columns

Symptoms

The Microsoft BizTalk Adapter for DB2 can't read data that is stored in DB2 for i V7R2 GRAPHIC CCSID 13488 UNICODE UTF-16 columns. And the following message is logged in the Application event log:

Cause

This issue occurs because the Microsoft DRDA Application Requester Client for DB2 doesn't convert DB2 GRAPHIC data type to the correct Microsoft .NET Framework data type.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in Cumulative Update 2 for Host Integration Server 2016.

After Cumulative Update 2 is installed, the Microsoft DRDA Application Requester Client for DB2 data conversion functionality is updated to support DB2 GRAPHIC data type.
