Active Monitoring probes fail when you use a new accepted domain as the default domain in Exchange Server 2016

Symptoms

When you use a new accepted domain as the default domain in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 environment, some Active Monitoring probes may be in failed status. Additionally, you may receive the following error message:

+ ResultName: AutodiscoverCtpProbe/EXHR-0765.EXHR-0765dom.extest.microsoft.com
- Error System.Exception: >>> Autodiscover Soap Endpoint Verification AuthMethod=Negotiate AutodUrl=https://localhost/autodiscover/autodiscover.svc GetUserSettings (Attempt #0) Status=The request failed. The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

Cause

This issue occurs because the user principal name of the monitoring mailbox isn't constructed correctly.

Resolution

To fix this issue, install Cumulative Update 6 for Exchange Server 2016 or a later cumulative update for Exchange Server 2016.
