FIX: A four-part named linked server query that contains a CALL statement against a "DB2 for i" database fails

Symptoms

You run a SQL Server Distributed Query for DB2. If the query is a four-part named linked server query, and it contains a CALL statement against a DB2 for i database, the query fails. Additionally, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
OLE DB provider "DB2OLEDB" for linked server "linked_server_name" returned message "An internal network library error has occurred. A network level syntax error has occurred. SQLSTATE: HY000, SQLCODE: -379".

Msg 7212, Level 17, State 1, LineNumber  Could not execute procedure 'procedure_name' on remote server 'remote_server_name'. "

Resolution

This problem is fixed in Cumulative Update 1 for Host Integration Server 2016.
