FIX: EnableDHCP registry setting missing when you change from Static to DHCP-enabled IP address in Windows Embedded Compact 2013

Introduction

This article describes an issue that causes the EnableDHCP registry setting to disappear when you change from a Static to a DHCP-enabled IP address in Windows Embedded Compact 2013. An update is available to resolve this issue.

Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.

Symptoms

When you change the DHCP setting on a device that's running Windows Embedded Compact 2013, you may experience the following symptoms:

  • In DHCP configuration mode, the EnableDHCP value is missing in the registry for the Ethernet adapter interface.
  • In Static configuration mode, if you switch from the Static IP to the DHCP-enabled setting in Network and Dial-up settings, the following registry key value is missing:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\adapter_namer\Parms\TcpIp\EnableDHCP

After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:

  • On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
  • On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.

Update replacement

This update does not replace any other updates.
