Symptoms

Once a WHS enabled item has been used, and inventory transactions have been generated, it is not possible to change the tracking dimension group even if inventory is temporarily written down to 0 and an inventory close is performed.

Resolution

A new periodic task, Change tracking dimension group for items, has been added to the Warehouse Management module. Here, you can specify that a new Tracking Dimension Group and new Reservation Hierarchy should be assigned to a set of items.

Before the properties are changed, it is validated that new values are valid and compatible for the selected items.

The prequisites for invoking this new task are the same as for changing tracking dimension groups on non-WHS enabled items, and as those for the existing periodic task, Change reservation hierarchy for items.
