Symptoms

After a TCP reset (RST) command has been sent from a Windows Embedded Compact 2013 device, the device cannot reconnect to a server message block (SMB) share.

Cause

This issue occurs because of the post wait time out value when the NetBIOS session is closed. When you reconnect the network cable at the SMB server-end and try to reconnect to the SMB share, the device tries to communicate directly with the SMB Service. Because the logical connection (NetBIOS session) is not established, the communications fails.
