More Information

You may have to reset or to restore your base station if you experience any one of the symptoms that are listed in the "Summary" section. Resetting the base station is different from restoring the base station.

When you reset the base station, your current network and Internet connections are re-established without modifying any settings.

When you restore the base station, your current settings are erased, and the base station is restored to the factory default settings.

Reset the base station

To reset the base station, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Hardware reset

To reset the base station, follow these steps:
  1. Unplug the power adaptor from the base station, wait 10 seconds, and then plug the power adaptor back into the base station.
  2. After the base station power light turns green, the reset is complete.

Method 2: Broadband Network Utility reset

To reset the base station, follow these steps:
  1. Start the Microsoft Broadband Network Utility.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Management Tool.
  3. When you are prompted, log on to the base station. To do this, use the password that you created when you ran the Setup Wizard the first time. If you did not run the Setup Wizard, type the default base station password admin.
  4. On the Management menu, click Reset Base Station.
  5. On the Reset Base Station page, click Reset.

Note While the reset is in progress, the power light on the base station blinks and then turns orange. When the light is solid green, the reset is complete.
