ASP.NET is only supported on the following platforms:
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional (Microsoft recommends Service Pack 2)
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Server (Microsoft recommends Service Pack 2)
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional
  • Microsoft Windows Server family
You can develop ASP.NET applications by running Visual Studio .NET on a Windows NT client platform. However, this scenario requires access to a Web server that is running Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 or later.
