Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
1.Make sure that the path to the Notes.ini file is configured in the search path.

To add the location of Notes.ini to the Windows 2000 search path, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then press ENTER.
b. At the command prompt, type path C:\Lotus\Notes %path%, and then press ENTER.

NOTE: The usual location of the Notes.ini file is the C:\Lotus\Notes folder. Verify the exact location on your computer before you modify the search path.
c. Type exit, and then press ENTER.

The command prompt window closes.
2.Verify that the Connector for Lotus Notes points to the correct location of the Notes.ini file. To do so, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
b. Click the Connectors object, right-click Connector for Lotus Notes (server_name), and then click Properties.
c. On the General tab, verify that Notes INI file location box displays the full path and file name of the Notes.ini file. To designate a different location, click Modify, and then modify the path and file name.

NOTE: You must type the path, and then type the file name itself, for example, C:\Lotus\Notes\notes.ini. If you do not type the file name after the path, the second event listed in the "Symptoms" section of this article is logged in the Event log when you try to start the connector.
d. Click OK to close the Properties dialog box.
