Symptoms

The Exchange 2000 Server Information Store may stop unexpectedly because of an access violation.

Cause

This problem occurs because of a logic error in the code that converts Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Rich Text Format (RTF) messages in the Exchange 2000 information store.
