Symptoms

In Microsoft Excel 2000, when you click the arrow for a filtered list, the processor usage spikes to 100 percent.

In Microsoft Excel 2002, the processor returns to its usual state when a mouse-over event occurs. However, in Excel 2000, the processor level remains at 100 percent until you select something or dismiss the drop-down menu. This behavior can cause performance issues under Microsoft Terminal Server.
