To turn on debug logging of the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in (dsa.msc):

  1. Obtain and install the checked (debug) build of the Dsadmin.dll file.
  2. Create a file in the %systemroot%\System32 folder that is named Dsadmin.ini.
  3. Add the following text to the Dsadmin.ini file:

    [Debug]
    Trace=1

  4. Save the Dsadmin.ini file.

  5. Start the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in MMC console under a debugger to view the debug output.
