More information

After you invite yourself as an attendee in an appointment, the original meeting request is moved to the Deleted Items folder; it is assumed that you will accept your own appointment.

There are two scenarios for accepting meeting requests: Either the meeting request originated from the attendee or from another user account (the organizer).
If the attendee responds to the meeting request that he or she sent (from the attendees own mailbox), the item is placed on the calendar as Accept or Tentative, and then the item is removed from the Inbox.
If another user account (the organizer) requested a response, the item is placed on the calendar as Accept or Tentative and the item is not removed from the Inbox.
NOTE: To respond to the meeting request, select Accept, Tentative, or Decline from the meeting request. Decline does not place the item on the calendar.
