Symptoms

If you click Copied Cells on the Insert menu to insert a row or a column that you copied from a shared Excel 2000 workbook, you may receive an application error message, and Excel 2000 may stop responding (crash).

Cause

The problem occurs when Excel 2000 tries to write out the undo information for the Insert/Delete revision of the shared Excel 2000 workbooks. If the record is so large that it exceeds one of the buffers, it nulls the internal pointer. When Excel 2000 tries to access that pointer, it stops responding (crashes).
