Introduction

This March 2017 Preview of the Quality Rollup for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) includes cumulative reliability improvements in the .NET Framework 3.5.1. We recommend that you apply this rollup as part of your regular maintenance routines. Before you install this update, see the "Prerequisites" and "Restart requirement" sections.

Quality and reliability improvements

  • For SQL

    Exceptions may be thrown in SqlClient during prelogin handshake processing or during MARS communication when a received TDS packet's size is smaller than expected. Prelogin handshake errors will occur as an OverflowException, and MARS errors will occur as a generic "Physical connection is not usable" SqlException.
