XCCC: The "First Name" or "Last Name" Box Is Not Updated If You Modify the "First Name" or "Last Name" Box in OWA

Symptoms

In the version of Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) that is included in Exchange 2000 Server, if you change the First Name or Last Name boxes of an existing Contact, the changes may not be made to the respective fields of the Contact. However, if you use the modified first name or last name to search through the Contacts, you get the expected results.

Resolution

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server service pack that contains this hotfix.

NOTE: Because of file dependencies, this update requires Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 2. IMPORTANT: Because this is a change in the script, there is no version information. Make sure that you apply the fix to both back-end servers and front-end servers.
