An update rollup is available for Windows Embedded Compact 2013. This rollup resolves the security issues that are described in the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
  • 3174644 Microsoft security advisory: Updated support for Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange
Note Windows Embedded Compact supports the following registry path for configuration of key size for algorithms:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\KeyExchangeAlgorithms
For example, you can add a DWORD value named ClientMinKeyBitLength to the following registry subkey:
Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\KeyExchangeAlgorithms\PKCS
Value Name: ClientMinKeyBitLength
Value Type: REG_DWORD
Value Data: 00000400

  • On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
  • On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You don't have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
