More information

In cases where the processing of the message content causes an error (InvalidContent, VersionMismatch, and SyntaxError), the message is deleted from the queue and an event is logged in the Application event log. Deleting the message unblocks the queue and allows message delivery to occur.

A Warning event ID 2092 similar to the following is logged in the Application event log:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store
Event Category: MTA Connections
Event ID: 2092

Time: 4:24:35 PM
User: N/A
Computer: <Computername>
Description: A corrupted message was received from the MTA and a
non-delivery report cannot be generated - it has
been removed from the Transfer-In queue. Error %1.
