PRB: DCOM Errors Are Generated When You Try to Create Destinations Through a Terminal Server Client


Symptoms

When you try to create destinations through the SAP DCOM Connector Web Interface, an error message that is similar to the following may be generated in the event log of your computer (where UserX and ComputerX represent the user name and the computer name of the computer that is experiencing the problem):

Description: Access denied attempting to launch a DCOM Server. The server is: {3C8DE583-54C4-11D1-91D9-080009EBBC58}

Cause

The SAP DCOM components use COM+ roles and each component must have an Administrator and User role. The currently-logged-on user must be a member in each role for each SAP COM+ application.

Resolution

Make sure that the Administrator and User roles exist for each SAP COM+ application and that the currently-logged-on user is a member in each role. Alternatively, you can configure the SAP COM+ applications to run under the context of a particular user by appropriately configuring the Identity tab of these COM+ applications.

This problem is not specific to BizTalk Server, but rather indicates a problem with the way in which the SAP DCOM Connector is configured.
