Import of ISO20022 return files to AP payment transfer journal is available in Microsoft Dynamics AX

The changes in the hotfix enable to import return file in ISO20022 format: pain.002 status return and camt.054 debit advice into the Accounts Payable (AP) Payment transfer journal in Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Overview

Feature allows to import ISO20022 return files for initiated vendor payments: pain.002 status report and camt.054 debit advice according to Common global implementation guidelines.

Setup

1. Set up Method of payment in Accounts payable > Setup > Payment > Methods of payment.
   
   Choose "ISO 20022 pain.002 camt.054".
   
2. Set up mapping of status codes between pain.002 statuses and vendor payment journal statuses in Accounts payable > Setup > Payment > Return format status mapping.
   
   Example setup:
   
   

   Return status	Payment status
   RJCT	Rejected
   ACCP	Received
   ACSP	Received

   
   Payment status in Vendor payment journal line will be changed after importing the ISO20022 return pain.002 file according to this setting.
   
3. Set up pain.002 error codes and descriptions in Accounts payable > Setup > Payment >Return format error codes according to external ISO20022 Status reason codes.
   
   Example Setup:

4. Set up transactional bank fees.
   
   If camt.054 file contains transaction charges which you decide to post along with posting of outgoing vendor payment:
   
   1. Set up Payment fee in Accounts payable > Setup > Payment > Payment fee. In the field Charge choose "Ledger" so that fee amount is charged to the dedicated GL account.
   2. Optionally associate Payment fee ID to Method of payment and bank account in the Payment fee setup form (press Payment fee setup button on Methods of payment form).

Import ISO20022 status return file pain.002.001.03

1. Generate SEPA or ISO20022 payments to vendors in Accounts payable > Journals > Payments > Payment journal.
2. Import ISO20022 pain.002 return file in Accounts payable > Journals > Payments > Payment transfer:
   
   
   1. Press button Return file – vendor;
   2. Choose method of payment in Load diskette with payment dialog, press OK;
   3. Choose pain.002 file in File name
   4. Activate Print control report to print the status report for import. The report contains status for initiated payment and rejection reason description;
   5. Press OK;
   6. As result, status of vendor payment lines will be updated accordingly information in imported file.
   
   The processing logic for pain.002 file is the following:
   
   

   Status level in file	Comment
   Group status	If Return format status mapping is found, all payment lines from Group (<OrgnlMsgId>) are processed, lower level statuses are not analyzed If status doesn’t exist in the file at this level or mapping for status is not found, lower level is analyzed (see below)
   Payment information status	If Return format status mapping is found, all payment lines from Payment information (<PmtInfSts>) are processed, lower level statuses are not analyzed If status doesn’t exist in file on this level or mapping for status is not found, lower level is analyzed (see below)
   Transaction status	Payment line in transaction is processed

3. Review the rejection status reason codes for payment line in the field Error code (you should add the field to the form before). Description of rejection reason may be reviewed in Control report for each rejected line. Description of rejection reason may be reviewed in Control report for each rejected line.

Import ISO20022 debit advice return file camt.054.001.02

1. Import ISO20022 camt.054 return file in Accounts payable > Journals > Payments > Payment transfer:
   
   1. Press button Return file – vendor;
   2. Choose method of payment in Load diskette with payment dialog, press OK.Choose camt.054 file in File name.
   
   Optionally activate the following parameters for camt.054 processing:
   
   

   Use bank exchange rate	Activate this parameter if Currency exchange rate field should be updated in the payment line considering the value in camt.054 file. When bank account currency in the system is equal to transaction currency in camt.054 file, and there is exchange rate between transaction amount and instructed amount in file, it may be used to calculate currency exchange rate in payment journal line. Example: Transaction amount = 752 NOK Instructed amount = 100 USD Accounting currency = NOK Default currency exchange rate: 100 USD = 750 NOK Bank currency = NOK When this field is activated, default currency exchange rate for vendor payment journal line (=7,50 in example) will be updated to bank exchange rate from file (=7,52 in example)
   Print control report	Activate this parameter to print report with control information for each vendor payment.
   Fee ID	Choose Fee ID to be used for posting transactional bank charges. When Fee ID is chosen, new Payment fee lines will be created in vendor payment journal line if charges amount is present in camt.054 file. Pre-defaulted Payment fee lines will be updated with info from file if applicable. Tip! Make sure that no more than 1 payment fee line per currency code is pre-defaulted in vendor payment journal line to be automatically updated with charges amounts from file.
   Transferring of validated payments
   New journal name, New journal description, Delete empty journal	Optionally define New journal name for transferring processed payment journal lines. When the journal name is defined, processed payments will be transferred to a new journal. If voucher number series in the new journal is different from the voucher number series of source journal, new voucher numbers are assigned to transferred lines (in this scenario, date in journal line is also updated with Booking date from the file). Otherwise, voucher numbers of payment lines stay unchanged. Activate Delete empty journal if source journal should be deleted after all processed payments are transferred.
   New transactions
   Import direct debit transactions	Activate Import direct debit transactions if outgoing direct debits need to be imported to the vendor payment journal. Below fields become active when this field is activated.
   Journal name	Define a journal name for new imported transactions. If New journal name is defined for transferring processed payment journal lines, new payments will be imported to the New journal name irrespectively from the value in this field.
   Settle transactions	Activate Settle transactions if imported vendor payments will need to be settled with invoices found in the system. Invoices are searched only when Structured remittance information is provided in file (either structured creditor reference or structured referred documents).
   Import incorrect records	Activate Import incorrect records, if you want to import records where vendor was not found in the system. Vendor account will be left blank in such lines

2. As result, review the returned vendor payment lines in Payment transfer journal. Payment reference is updated with Account servicer reference value from the file.
